Learn How to Start Meditation at Home, Meditation Tips for Beginners


Remember wonders don’t happen in a day. You need tireless pursuit and highest devotion to achieve something new in your life. Practice makes you perfect. Start practicing meditation at your own home. Even a yogi who reaches the highest state of self-realization starts with simple meditation techniques.       

Merely closing your eyes while sitting in comfortable position will not serve the purpose. Control your mind by controlling your recurring thought-waves It comes when there are no thought waves in your mind. You can see the depth of a lake clearly when there are no waves in water.

Meditation courses will teach you about mind game which start with basic meditation techniques. If you can control your mind, you can achieve this yogic state. You need impeccable concentration first. Start with focusing on your mind on any one object by disconnecting with world.      

·        Select a comfortable place for practice
·        It should be preferably a dark room
·        Best time for practice is 4 am to 6 am
·        One should practice for 40 minutes module
·        You need ear-plug & eye-shadow to disconnection
·        Wear a comfortable yoga dress

You need to follow the following tips to start the practice:

Time

You can start learning meditative techniques in morning when mind remains remains fresh & active. This is “Brahmamutra” when plants release ample oxygen to the atmosphere. During this time, there is no disturbance in the outer surroundings. If you are unable to devote this time, then you can do meditation in late evening hours before retiring to bed.

·        The best time is morning time
·        Best time is 4am to 6 am
·        Another option is before dinner
·        One can also practice after sunset
  
Choose a Small Dark Room

Your personal meditative room should be small and dark. The reason is that in small room, the dimension of room is restricted where all the energy remains in your body dimension. The mind remains focused on meditation. You easily disconnect with the outer world. That is important part of meditation.

·        You can ear-plug to restrict no sound disturbance
·        No outer sound will reach to your ear
·        Wear eye-shadow to obstruct the sense of perception
·         A beginner can feel enthusiastic to see the surroundings
 
Warm-up Yogaasana

Meditation for beginners starts with sitting in sukhasana. It removes the stiffness & tightness of your muscles and joints. The energy flow enhances in the body and it removes all the blockages. Otherwise, the energy flow remains hindered. This is pre-requisite part of pose.   
  •        Practice it for 10 minutes
  •        You can go for 10 rounds of sun-salutation
  •        One can choose any convenient joint exercises
  •        Any physical warm-up will also serve the same purpose   

Sukh Asana (comfortable pose)
Sukhasana

Any easy or decent pose is comfortable pose where you can sit for long duration of time. Sit comfortably on yoga mat by crossing your legs under the opposite knee with straight spine, back and neck. Try to balance your body by laying your hands on knees. The legs should be at equal distance from each other.
  •         Your back should be straight
  •         One can use even cushion for support
  •         Spine and neck should be upwards straight
  •         Focus your attention on your upper body

Deep & Slow Breathing

Taking deep breaths will fill your lungs with ample oxygen. It opens up all the blockages in the body. It removes all the garbage from your mind and makes it stress-free. It activates all the centers of energy for wider awakening. It removes all the stress and makes you thought-less in a gentle way.

·        Daily practice for 15 minutes
·        30 rounds each slow & deep
·        30 rounds fast & deep
·        You can practice kapalsodhan or bhastrika pranayama 

AUM Meditation

Aum is a universal sound and mantra. This is to purify your consciousness which has a calming effect on your consciousness. It makes your sound more powerful. It creates positive flow of energy and there is transformation of energy occurs during this process. It develops a flawless circuit of energy for revitalizing cells in your body. Your focus goes inwards and no thought emanate in your mind.

·        Breath-in with slowly start the aum
·        Your attention should be at base chakra
·        The syllable “A” originate from back of throat
·        Second syllable “B” from the middle of vocal region
·        Last syllable “M” originate from extreme of lips
